The Block bed was inspired by contemporary design, characterized by soft, rounded, and smooth forms. Its shape references brutalist architecture – an attempt to transfer the characteristic shapes into the aesthetic of furniture. The headboard of the bed is designed to allow for comfortable reading, with the head resting against a long, strongly rounded edge. The softness of the bed's shape is further enhanced by the use of soft foam. The mattress frame balances the massive headboard. The thin frame with a wooden plinth and high legs adds lightness to it, just like the upholstered plinth, which is set back from the mattress frame.
