Honorary tribune Służewiec
hotels
The Horse Racing Track in Służewiec was designed by Zygmunt Plater-Zyberek and opened for use in 1939. The task of the design office NAP Studio was to equip the VIP Tribune, which is a three-level building that includes ticket offices, a restaurant, VIP lounges, and coaches' rooms.
The designers at NAP studio began by searching for an original interior design. Digging through archives, they came across photographs that confirmed the direction the project should take. The Służewiec track is a classic example of naval modernism, however, NAP's implementation is not an attempt to reconstruct the original project, but rather a contemporary response to the style of the 1920s and 1930s.
For two months, it was possible to equip 1,500 square meters. The furniture is a mix of classic and modern designs: TON chairs (360 pcs.!), NAP sofas, Sits, GTV, NAP coffee tables, Gubi, Tom Dixon, and custom-made bars with black granite countertops, white marble and brass cladding. Specially for the Tribune, freestanding wooden cash registers with brass finishes were also created.
On the second floor, there is the box of the Polish Horse Racing Club, where the existing antiques were supplemented with additional equipment. The VIP boxes, occupying the top floor of the building, gained elegance thanks to the original Zoffany wallpapers, in addition to sofas, tables, and chairs. The grand opening of the Tribune took place on June 25, 2017, during General Anders Day.
